March 3, 2013 The ice on Lake George is holding at 6 inches on the main body and the bays have a foot. Many pressure cracks have formed and you need to cross them with great care. Some snowmobiles and sleds have gone through the ice, especially near the islands. Access points in some locations are not good, due to the pressure cracks.
